Terms of Service

Terms of Use (English)

Last updated: 19.10.2026. The German version prevails if the texts differ.

1. Scope and provider

These terms apply to the use of the website 20esports.org with its community system (nexpell: account, forum, comments, messages, news) and the 20ESPORTS event system (tournaments, Gather, Quickplay, teams, rankings). The provider is see imprint. By registering you agree to these terms.

2. Services

We provide the site and its features free of charge. You have no claim to a particular feature, tournament, participation or placement. We may change, extend or discontinue features.

3. Registration and account

  • Registration is open from age 16. Younger users need the consent of their legal guardians.
  • You give truthful information when registering. One account per person is allowed; multiple accounts to evade rules, bans or ratings are forbidden.
  • Keep your password secret and do not share your account. You are responsible for everything done through your account unless you are not responsible for the misuse. Report misuse immediately.
  • Your username must not infringe third-party rights or be offensive or misleading (for example, impersonating administrators or others).

4. Rules of conduct

Be fair and respectful. In particular, the following are not allowed:

  • insults, hate speech, threats, discrimination, harassment and personal attacks;
  • unlawful content, including prohibited symbols and content that is harmful to minors, pornographic or glorifies violence;
  • cheating, hacks, exploiting bugs, arranging results (match fixing), smurfing or any other manipulation of matches, ratings and rankings;
  • spam, unsolicited advertising, malware, automated requests and attacks on the site or other users;
  • publishing other people's private data (doxxing) or spying on accounts;
  • circumventing technical protections or bans.

5. Your content

You are responsible for all content you post (posts, comments, chat, profile details, images, screenshots). Post only content you have the necessary rights to and that does not infringe third-party rights.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide right to store and display your content to operate the site, to the extent you make it visible. The right ends when the content is deleted, unless others have already reused it (for example quotes in replies) or we must keep it by law. We are not obliged to check content in advance.

6. Tournaments, Gather, Quickplay

  • Each tournament and mode is also governed by the gatherrules , quickplayrules and tournamentrules . In case of conflict the rules apply to that tournament.
  • You report results truthfully. You can upload screenshots as proof. If reports differ, the administrators decide; their decision is final unless the rules say otherwise.
  • The Elo rating and rankings are calculated automatically from results. There is no claim to a particular rating. We may correct faulty ratings.
  • We may cancel, postpone or change tournaments and exclude participants, for example for rule violations or too few registrations.
  • Results, team names and rankings are publicly visible, including to guests (see privacy policy).

7. Discord

We use a Discord server for match rooms and coordination. From 2v2 on, linking your Discord account and being a member of the server is required to take part. Discord's own terms and policies also apply. Our rules of conduct apply there too.

8. Moderation, warnings and bans

If you violate these terms or the rules we may respond proportionately: remove content, warn, void results, ban temporarily or permanently, or delete accounts. We consider severity, repetition and your interests and, where possible, tell you the reason. You can contest a measure by email to moderation@20esports.org ; we will review it.

9. Reporting unlawful content

If you find content you believe is unlawful (for example an insult, copyright infringement or prohibited content), report it to meldung@20esports.org. Please include the content's address (URL), why you think it is unlawful, and your name and email address. We review reports promptly, remove or block the content if it is unlawful, and inform you and, where possible, the person concerned of the decision. Abusive reports may have consequences for your account. Our point of contact for authorities and users is meldung@20esports.org; we reply in German.

10. Availability

We try to keep the site running without interruption but cannot guarantee it. Maintenance, faults, attacks and outages at the host, Discord or other services may cause interruptions. There is no claim to permanent availability.

11. Liability

We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations and limited to the foreseeable, typical damage. Otherwise liability is excluded. The statutory liability privileges for services provided free of charge apply. For user content and external links we are liable only as provided by law (see imprint). Liability for data loss is limited to the effort that would have been needed with regular backups.

12. Termination and account deletion

You can delete your account at any time under Edit profile → My data & privacy. We may ban or delete accounts for good cause, in particular for serious or repeated violations. We may delete long-unused accounts after prior notice. Posts and results may remain in anonymised form after deletion (see privacy policy).

13. Data protection

How we process personal data is described in the privacy policy and the cookie policy.

14. Changes to the terms

We may change these terms, for example because of new features or legal changes. We announce material changes at least 14 days in advance on the site or by email. If you do not object within that period and keep using the site, the new terms apply; we point this out in the announcement. If you object, you may delete your account.

15. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, mandatory consumer protection rules of the country of their habitual residence remain unaffected. Where permitted, the place of jurisdiction is Germany. If individual provisions are invalid, the rest remains valid. We do not take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.
